Introducing Our Singers
Jules Rendell is Get Gospel’s founder and one of our arrangers. Her backing vocal credits include Gorillaz, Foals, JP Cooper and Keane. She is a songwriter and artist in her own right and having released four EPs and an album. You can find her on Spotify and YouTube and more than likely at a gig drinking champagne or tea and eating cake.
Emily Holligan
Emily Holligan is an in demand backing vocalist and arranger, currently working with Michael Kiwanuka and Rag’N’Bone Man, having previously sung with (among many others) Candi Staton, Blur, Jocelyn Brown, Pixie Lott, Plan B and the great Stevie Wonder himself – not that our humble Emily would tell you herself! Mica Townsend
Mica Townsend is a talented singer-song writer, fresh from the West End stage in Thriller and also now touring with Beautiful, the Carole King musical. She has been backing vocalist with Foals as well as lead vocalist with Hacienda Classical and the House and Garage Orchestra. Kirsten Ellington
Kirsten Ellington is a versatile and super talented vocalist, singing teacher and mum, singing both soprano and alto with GG when she’s not singing backing vocals for her hubby Jaz! She’s also sung with The Feeling, Noah And The Whale, performed with Pharrell at the Brits 2014 and her studio work includes Tom Jones among others.
Grace Mitchell
Grace Mitchell. We love keeping it in the family, and Grace, being sister to Emily and wife to Riccardo, is not only a busy session vocalist, backing the likes of Muyiwa and Riversongz, but also a nurse and mum-extraordinaire to three. She adds her powerful vocals to the alto section!
Lizzie Deane
Lizzie Deane is the latest addition to the Get Gospel family and has possibly the biggest voice to have ever come out of a white girl! Having worked with Boy George, Mica Paris, Pee Wee Ellis and Belinda Carlisle, as well as a busy solo career, we’re honoured to have her musicality, sassy voice and gorgeous personality in the ranks.
Esther Adjepong
Esther Adjepong is a graduate of the the BRIT School and Los Angeles’ Musician’s Institute. A classically trained vocalist but most at home with gospel and soul, she has a versatile singing style. From performing in operas such as Carmen and La Boheme, to singing with Tony Bennet and Bobby McFerrin to name a few, her vocals add beauty to our sound.
Biance Rose
Bianca Rose is a talented singer-song writer and guitarist with a soul-folk style impossible to ignore. She has just released her first album, ‘No Fear Here‘. Watch one of her mesmorising performances on YouTube.
Mariam Akintokun
Listen to Mariam Akintokun’s original music here. She’s taken her songs to the Jazz Cafe, Royal Albert Hall, 606 club and 02, and has shared the stage with the likes of Nature Boy, Tokio Myers and Samm Henshaw. She’s part of the Kingdom Choir too, who sang at the Royal Wedding in 2016, and then on Strictly Come Dancing, Graham Norton Show and toured the USA.
Sharlene Hector
Sharlene Hector is one third of LaSharVu, singer with Basement Jaxx and Natalie Williams Soul Family, guest vocalist on many a track and singer-songwriter in her own right. She’s also an incredible make up artist and candle maker in her spare time! Listen on Spotify..
Loretta Andrews
Loretta Andrews is a radio presenter and producer on Premier Christian Radio, mother to Ru, creator of the More Than A Mum blog and as if she has any more time on her hands, one third of pop band Sugarfoot! Buy their new EP ‘Taste’ on iTunes.
James Philip
James Philip is a songwriter, producer, proud father and incredible vocalist who has worked with the likes of Tony Momrelle, Kelly Rowland and Jocelyn Brown. Having toured the country in a Ratpack show impressing crowds as Sammy Davies Jr, he’s now fronting funk band, Speedometer and we’re glad to have him as our lead tenor in Get Gospel. Billy Boothroyd
Billy Boothroyd is an accomplished singer, beatboxer and writer who joined Get Gospel in 2012. One of the best beatboxers in the country, he’s also a session vocalist with a phenomenal CV, having performed with the likes of Gareth Malone, Labrinth, Jarvis Cocker, Vanessa Carlton, Imogen Heap, Shlomo’s Vocal Orchestra and most recently Strictly Come Dancing. James Francis
James Francis‘s innovative vocal style has even our jaws dropping during performances. A true tenor, James could riff for England! When he isn’t singing with us, he travels with The Kingdom choir and with artists such as JP Cooper, Sarah Brighton, Samuel Ljungblahd.
Ricardo Mitchell
Ricardo Mitchell, another incredible riffing tenor in the ranks, but also beat boxer and prolific songwriter. His backing vocal credits include the incredible Jocelyn Brown and Michael Kiwanuka. Check Riccy out on YouTube and iTunes, you won’t be disappointed.
Adam Bernard
Olivier Award winning Adam Bernard is our newest male addition in the tenor ranks, although he’s also a closet beatboxer! He brings the vocal style and class of the Jimmy Early character in Dream Girls he pioneered – it’s a pleasure to have him in the ranks. Here’s a snippet of those old school vocals!
Ricardo Castro
Ricardo Castro is another of our baritone/beat boxers. He has toured with various theatre productions such as Sister Act, Fame, Aladdin and Legally Blonde the Musical as well as being backing vocalist for George Ezra on his first tour. In between theatre and session work Ricardo has done various commercial modeling and dance jobs for brands like Wella and Vidal Sassoon. Check out a snippet of him here.
Matt Featherstone
Matt Featherstone is a professional flautist by day and super funky singer, beatboxer and arranger by night! Matt grew up in France and moved to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he became a fellow. He is now principal flute of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales but still has time to sing with us, having also worked with Kwabs, Shlomo and the vocal orchestra, Bobby McFerrin and Natalie Williams . Alex Hardie
Alex is a recent graduate from performing arts college Urdang. Both singer and beatboxer, he’s always entertaining us with his many sounds. You might catch him busking on Oxford Street one day and being on a theatre stage the next. We’re very happy to have welcomed him in to the GG family in 2021!
Aleysha hails from the prestigious BRIT school of performing arts where she perfected her skills as a singer songwriter. Backing vocal credits include Boy George, Leona Lewis and Mica Paris to name a few. Aside from that, a career as an Event Manager, a small clothing business owner ‘By Evie Eve’ and being a mummy keeps her busy and out of trouble.

Pete Billington
Pete Billington is a multi instrumentalist, composer, arranger, musical director and general fantastic man. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music and is most known for his presence on the London jazz scene playing piano and double bass with Clark Tracey, Zoe Rahman, Ben Castle, and the Pendulum Jazz Orchestra. Along with his own trio and octet and touring with the likes of Michael Ball, we wonder he has time to play with us and arrange some of our tunes!
